Ajman Media City Free Zone Company Setup

About Ajman Media City

In 2018, the UAE saw the introduction of the Ajman Media City Free Zone to the company formation market. It quickly became one of the best-selling free zones in the United Arab Emirates because of its affordable packages.

AMC Zone provides a very specialized offering. It engages in a lot of media-related activities. Neither land nor warehouses are available for leasing. However, it will work for individuals who can manage a small office or a shared desk.

Special feature: Each AMC license has its own QR code. Any device may quickly scan the license to verify its legitimacy. Building trust with potential clients can be beneficial for online businesses.

The free zone’s registered agents complete the speedy company registration process for Ajman Media City. Dubai business setup professionals can take care of all the paperwork for you.

Is AMC suitable for your business?

— Yes If

  • Ajman Free Zone Company Setup provides one of the least expensive packages without a visa if you are in the media industry and are searching for a cost-effective solution to launch a business in the United Arab Emirates.
  • If you want to register a business quickly, Ajman Media City can do it in three business days.
  • AMC also provides packages, including a trade license and an e-commerce license, if you are a startup with a business that is unrelated to media. It is not necessary to be physically present or conduct business in Ajman in order to launch a business at a reasonable cost.
  • The flexi-desk in the AMC package is accessible for just 10 hours per month, and you may hire an affordable office starting at 12 square meters if you require a minimum workplace and don’t want to pay a lot for it.
  • You can live in Dubai or any other emirate and register a company in AMC remotely.
  • Media, advertising, IT services, and other creative and intellectual professions are among the many activities that AMC provides.

— No If

  • Look at Ajman Free Zone if you’re looking for a trade license that allows for a greater variety of economic operations.
  • We suggest DMCC if you want to be based in Dubai and would rather be in a more well-known free zone.
  • Another option is the SHAMS free zone, which focuses on media-related activities.
  • If your business is in the manufacturing sector and you want land plots and/or warehouses, consider the RAKEZ or UAQ free zones.

AMC company formation process in UAE

Regardless of whether you are in the UAE or overseas, you can register your company remotely, which will take three working days.

Step 1: Choose the entity type and licensing type that best fits your needs from the AMC free zone.

Selecting the incorrect activity, registration authority, or location might result in mistakes during company registration, which can cause issues when opening a bank account or obtaining a resident visa. Thus, it is essential to examine this matter carefully.

One of the following legal entities may be registered in Ajman Media City:

  • Free Zone Establishment (FZE): One shareholder
  • Free Zone Company (FZC):  Multiple shareholders
  • Branch of a local company
  • Branch of a foreign company
  • Subsidiary of a foreign company

Step 2: Get the required paperwork ready. AMC only needs a small amount of documentation.

  • Passport with a 6-month validity
  • Visa or the previous entry stamp to the UAE
  • Suggested company name
  • List of activities (your license can include up to 5 business activities)
  • Email address and residential address, as well as a mobile number
  • Photo

The registration fees must be paid in order to move forward with the application when all the documents have been assembled and the proper documentation has been prepared.

Step 3: Get the company’s license and registration paperwork, specifically

  • Certificate of incorporation
  • Trade license
  • Lease agreement
  • MoA and Articles of Association

In addition to the typical set of corporate documents, AMC provides the following documents:

  • Share certificate
  • Incumbency certificate

Opening a bank account will be a lot simpler and require fewer resources if you have all these documents.

Step 4: Get an establishment card, which gives your business the ability to sponsor residence visas and contains information about it.

Step 5: Apply for an entry permit.

If you apply from within the United Arab Emirates, you will need to convert your visa status from a previous visa to a residence visa once the entry permission is granted.

If you are not in the United Arab Emirates, you must enter the country, get your entrance permit stamped, and then complete the remaining steps of the residency visa application process by providing the required paperwork.

Step 6: Complete a medical examination and apply for a resident visa.

Step 7: Apply for an Emirates ID

Step 8: Finish the biometrics process at an Emirates ID centre.

Step 9:

You can submit all the information for visa approval as soon as you obtain the results of your biometrics and medical test. You will receive an email with your electronic visa. It is also available through the UAE ICP app.

Step 10: Get your Emirates ID.

Following the issuance of the residence visa, the government creates a plastic identity card, which is a crucial document needed to pay bills or fines, rent an apartment, open a bank account, and more. Additionally, it gives you access to various local services and savings.

Step 11: Open a bank account

To open a corporate bank account, submit an application to a UAE bank. It can take a few weeks for approval.

You can begin operating your company in the UAE as soon as you have the account details.

AMC business activities

The list of activities in the Ajman Media City Free Zone is extremely limited. The majority of them have to do with the media, advertising, and IT sectors.

There are also some trade activities offered. See if your activity is provided by following our directions.

You can operate up to five businesses under a single license in a free zone. Activities from one activity type may be included, or a combination may be used. However, trade and service operations must fall under a single business category, such as web design, software creation, computer hardware trading, or consulting.

Some notable activities include:

  • Social media influencer
  • Courier activities
  • Legal activities
  • Temporary employment agency activities and more

Important notice: There must be at least one media-related activity.

The location of Ajman Media Free Zone is in a recently constructed facility. It contains the companies’ corporate offices and business hubs.

AMC visa costs

AMC offers a range of packages, from zero to more than five resident visa allotments.

Visa-related expenses (AED):
Entry permit
1,000
Visa status change
800
Medical test
400
Emirates ID
500
Visa stamping
1,500
Total cost of the visa
4,200

Other immigration-related costs:

Security approval
600
Establishment card (1 year)
750
E-channel
2,300

Up to three shareholders are covered by security approval. E-channel and an establishment card are required if the business will be supporting residency permits. Processing an employee visa involves health insurance.

Every visa has a two-year validity period.

The Ajman Media City Free Zone may make it harder for some high-risk nationalities to get resident visas. Among them are:

  • Iraq
  • Syria
  • Palestine
  • Egypt
  • Lebanon
  • Bangladesh etc.

Before starting a business, people of certain nationalities must apply for immigration pre-approval. You can still try even if your nationality is classified as “risky.” Although anyone can apply, it is best to get pre-approved before the business is set up.

For high-risk approvals, we advise presenting a few supporting documents. They may be:

  • education certificates
  • previous UAE visas
  • other GCC country residency evidence

AMC company license renewal

Your registered agent is responsible for renewing your AMC company. You won’t need to travel to the United Arab Emirates. You need to offer:

  • authorization letter
  • renewal fees

The cost of registering a license will be the same as the renewal fee. Please take note that the package costs listed above are only good for the first year.

Additionally, you will need to renew annually:

Establishment card
750 AED
E-channel
1,200 AED

The renewal process usually lasts about 2 weeks.

AMC company amendments

The company’s managers and shareholders do not need to be present in person for any revisions, including the transfer of shares.

In comparison to certain other business setups in UAE-free zones, processing times are short, and costs are reasonably priced.

AMC company liquidation

The liquidation process has been made simpler by the current cost of closing a business, which is about AED 2,000. It takes roughly a month to complete. It includes these key steps:

  1. Visa cancellation (7-10 working days): if the company has any visas.
  2. Establishment card cancellation (7-10 working days):  if the business qualifies for a visa.
  3. License cancellation.

You must return all original company records and provide a final audit report in the case of liquidation. Visas should be closed, and any current lease agreements should be ended.

Before submitting an application for company liquidation, you should close any corporate bank accounts you may have held. The bank should provide you with a letter of verification confirming that.

Following the company’s dissolution, the free zone will formally acknowledge the liquidation by sending you a deregistration letter.
