What is the Process of Company Formation in Dubai South?

Step 1: Determine the type of license offered that suits your company’s job description.

It is important to approach this question carefully, as choosing the wrong registration authority, wrong activity, or location can lead to mistakes during the registration of the company. This may lead to problems with getting a residence visa or opening a bank account.

Step 2: Preparation of necessary documents

The free zone of Dubai South requires a minimal documentation package. This includes a passport with at least six months validity, a residential and email address, a working mobile number, and multiple options for company names, along with a clear description of the desired business activity.

After all, these documents have been compiled, and the necessary paperwork has been made. Now the required fee for the registration process must be paid in order to proceed with the application.

Step 3:

Receive the company’s registration and license documents, including the trade license, lease agreement, incorporation certification, articles of association, and MoA.

Step 4 :

Receiving a card of establishment that has all information regarding your company and makes it eligible to sponsor visas for residence.

Step 5: Application for an entry permit

If the application is made from inside the UAE, then after the entry permit is issued, you have to change the status of your visa from the previous one to a residence visa.

If the application is made from outside the UAE, the entry permit must be stamped upon arrival in the country, and the rest of the residence-obtaining process must be completed by submitting the necessary documents.

Step 6:

A medical checkup needs to be undergone, and all necessary documents for a residence visa must be submitted.

Step 7:

Emirates ID must be applied.

Step 8:

In one of the Emirates ID centers, the biometrics procedure must be completed.

Step 9:

Once the results of the biometrics and medical tests have been received, you can submit all related details to approve a visa. You must check your mail for an electronic visa, or you can find it in the country’s ICP app.

Step 10:

Once the Emirates ID has been received, the residence visa is also issued. On the issuance of the same, the government will prepare a plastic identity card for you, which is one of the essential documents required by you to open a bank account, rent an apartment, pay fines or bills, etc.

Upon card issuance, you will also be entitled to various discounts and local services.

Step 11: Open a bank account

To open a corporate bank account, apply to a UAE bank. The approval may take a few weeks. After receiving the account details, you can finally start running your business in the country.

FAQs

Can a free zone company have offices outside the free zone?

A free zone company's official office should be situated in the free zone in which it was registered. On the other hand, you can rent space at a business center and use it as needed if you require an office in Dubai.

Do businesses in free zones have to pay VAT?

VAT obligations are dependent upon the location of business activity in addition to the registration location. When the taxable turnover hits AED 375,000, VAT is applied. As long as the products or services are provided outside of the United Arab Emirates, a free zone company's foreign trading activities are not taxable.

What makes a free zone company preferable to an offshore or mainland company for me?

Your business strategy and requirements will determine whether a free zone company is more appropriate for your needs than an offshore or mainland firm.

In contrast to offshore businesses, a free zone configuration provides benefits such as 100% foreign ownership, resident visa eligibility, business conductibility both inside and outside of the UAE, and increased bank favorability.

Can I open a bank remotely?

Basically, no, since UAE Central Bank regulations mandate a personal visit to the UAE. This visit is necessary for local banks to confirm the client's identity. Nonetheless, certain banks provide remote account openings using their online or mobile banking apps.

Why do I need a flex desk or office?

Any business that is eligible for resident visas must have a flex desk. It is the bare minimum of physical office required of a business that employs people under its visa.
