Fujairah Free Zone Business Setup

About FFZ

One of the first free zones in the United Arab Emirates is Fujairah. It is located next to Fujairah Port in the Fujairah Emirate.

The free zone is mostly used for maritime and industrial operations. It is home to numerous mining and heavy industrial businesses.

Because Fujairah port is conveniently located with a direct connection to the Indian Ocean, it also has branches of all the major petroleum businesses in the region.

One of the most popular options for businesses that operate in the Fujairah Emirate is to set up their company in the free zone. Its oil storage capacity is the largest in the GCC.

Is FFZ suitable for your business?

— Yes If

  • If your company works in industries like trade, international logistics, heavy industry, maritime companies, oil and gas, or industrial manufacturing, you can consider this Dubai Freezone for Company Setup.
  • If having a strong logistics infrastructure is essential to you, FFZ is the perfect hub because it offers three delivery options: land, air, and sea.
  • Fujairah International Airport, which serves the eastern United Arab Emirates and northern Oman, is the only international airport on the UAE’s east coast and is located close to the free zone.
  • This is the way to go if you want to start a manufacturing business in a free zone with built infrastructure, such as warehouses, land plots, and ready-to-move-in custom units.
  • With Fujairah Port and Fujairah International Airport, FFZ has superior access to major sea and air routes that connect to Asian nations, making it a great place to trade with China, India, or Pakistan.
  • If your company engages in prohibited activities in other free zones, such as using a maritime license, dealing alcohol, trading tobacco, etc.

— No If

  • The Fujairah Free Zone is not the best place to conduct business if you wish to do so in Dubai or the surrounding area. From Fujairah, it takes about two hours to go to Dubai.
  • If you think of working from home. Before a license is granted, an office rental is required in Fujairah free zones.

Fujairah Free Zone Company Formation Process

It takes little time for Company Registration in Fujairah Free Zone. Since you must go through the first approval, business plan evaluation, and other preliminary procedures, the license or UAE Trade License will be completed in one business day, and the entire process will take roughly two weeks.

Step 1: Choose the entity type and licensing type from the FFZ free zone that best fits your needs.

Selecting the incorrect activity, registration authority, or location might result in mistakes during company registration, which can cause issues when opening a bank account or obtaining a resident visa. Thus, it is essential to examine this subject carefully.

One of the following legal entities is available for registration in FFZ:

  • Free Zone Establishment (FZE): One shareholder
  • Free Zone Company (FZC): Multiple shareholders
  • Branch of a local company
  • Branch of a foreign company

Step 2: Get the required paperwork ready. A simple documentation package is needed for FFZ.

For individuals:

  • Passport with a 6-month validity
  • 2 photos
  • NOC (if the applicant holds the UAE residency visa)

For branch/subsidiary:

  • Board Resolution
  • Certificate of incorporation
  • Memorandum
  • Valid license of the parent company
  • Passport copies of directors, shareholders
  • Certificate of good standing
  • Copy of the last audit of the parent company (for branches)

The registration fees need to be paid in order to move forward with the application when all the documents have been assembled, and the proper documentation has been prepared.

Step 3:

Get the company’s license and registration paperwork, specifically

Certificate of incorporation

  • License
  • Lease agreement
  • MoA and Articles of Association

Step 4:

Get an establishment card that allows your business to sponsor residence visas and contains information about it.

Step 5: Apply for an entry permit.

Once the entry permit is granted, you must convert your visa status from a previous visa to a resident visa if you applied from within the United Arab Emirates.

If you are not in the United Arab Emirates, bring your entry permit to the nation, have it stamped, and then complete the remaining steps of the residence visa application process by providing the required paperwork.

Step 6: Get a medical exam and submit resident visa paperwork.

Step 7: Apply for an Emirates ID.

Step 8: Finish the biometrics process at an Emirates ID center.

Step 9:

You can submit all the information for visa approval as soon as you get the results of your biometrics and medical test. You will receive an email with your electronic visa. It is also available through the UAE ICP app.

Step 10: Get your Emirates ID

Following the issuing of the residence visa, the government creates a plastic identity card, which is a crucial document needed to pay bills or fines, rent an apartment, open a bank account, and more. Additionally, it gives you access to various local services and savings.

Step 11: Create a bank account

To open a corporate bank account, submit an application to a UAE bank. It can take a few weeks for approval.

You can begin operating your company in the UAE once you have the account details.
