At Dubai Investments Park 1, the fourth edition of the Dubai Investments Green Run is planned for February 23, 2025. The run fosters a sense of community and creates a more active, healthy community by bringing together organizations, families, and fitness lovers.

With over 3,000 runners participating in the event last year and encouraging registrations ahead of the February 18 deadline. This shows growing interest in active lifestyles. 

A competitive 5km timed race with cash prizes for top adult and youth finishers is part of the event, which also includes a 3km fun walk/jog for people of all abilities, including those who use mobility aids.

Additionally, in keeping with its commitment to a greener future, Dubai Investments will recognize educational institutions and groups that are promoting sustainability.

Mohammed Saeed Al Raqbani, General Manager of Dubai Investments Industries and Masharie and Head of the Sustainability Committee at Dubai Investments, expressed his opinions: “At Dubai Investments, we aim to strengthen community bonds and champion a healthier future for the nation.”

An initiative that unites individuals and motivates them to get together and move is the Annual Dubai Investments Green Run. We take pride in hosting this and adding to the UAE’s spirit of unity and the country’s Year of Community program.

The Green Run Village, which is situated in Dubai Investments Park 1 behind the Dubai Investments Headquarters, is a significant event feature.

Dubai Investments aims to incorporate environmental consciousness into community projects. It also supports the UAE’s larger sustainability goals. This interactive zone will feature eco-friendly activities. It will provide educational experiences for people of all ages.

Organizing an event with a large number of participants can strain the environment. 

Still, Dubai Investments Green Run seeks to reduce its environmental impact by implementing strategies that inform the public and ease the strain on the environment. Dubai Investments Green Run provides a unique experience that promotes a greener race.

Sustainability Initiatives

The Dubai Investments Green Run is committed to minimizing its environmental impact through various sustainable practices:

• Promoting paperless communications: We are improving efficiency and drastically reducing paper waste by digitizing race manuals, certificates, registration forms, and other communications.
• Using paperless registration: Utilizing online registration platforms.
• Sustainable T-shirts: T-shirts manufactured from recycled materials are given to each participant.
• Water: With water accessible both in the town and throughout the route, participants are urged to bring their own reusable or refillable water bottles. During the event, water from individual plastic bottles will not be provided. For individuals who forget their personal use bottles, environmentally friendly paper cups are available.
• Encourage collecting for recycling: During the event, there will be possibilities for recycling at the location. Because there is a recycling bus to process items, participants are asked to bring recyclables such as electronics, plastics, textiles, and shoes.
• Shared transportation: Encourage participants to ‘share a ride’ to decrease the number of vehicles coming to the event.
• Eco-friendly run signs and run arch: Dubai Investments Green Run uses sustainable and recycled supplies for the logistics of the run.
• Eradicating discarded water cups and plastic bottles: The water stations allow runners to fill their own reusable, refillable water bottles.
• The Green Run Village: A Green Run Village featuring family-friendly, eco-friendly activities, entertainment, and refreshments is part of the event. Organizations dedicated to a better future promote recycling and sustainable solutions for a greener way of life. At the same time, vendors give visitors the chance to peruse and purchase from displays and eco-friendly exhibitions.
• Reuse, Recycle, and Reduce: There are recycling bins in the Green Run Village, throughout the route, and at the start and finish locations.

Awards and Prizes

The 5KM adult male, female, and youth champions of the Dubai Investments Green Run will receive a total cash award of AED 22,000. In these categories, the top three winners get trophies.

There are also awards for the school and organization who have the best “Green Message.” A T-shirt composed of recycled materials will be given to each participant upon registration.
