The UAE launched the first phase of the Blue Visa system, a 10-year residency visa intended for people who support environmental sustainability. 

During the World Governments Summit 2025 in Dubai, which took place from February 11 to 13, the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP) and the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment unveiled the idea.

Twenty innovators and thought leaders in sustainability will receive the Blue Visa in the first phase.
