UAE Expands Golden Visa Program with New Eligibility Categories in 2025

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) expanded options for long-term residency across various businesses by adding additional eligibility categories to its Golden Visa program. 

As of May 12, 2025, nurses who have worked for Dubai Health for over 15 years are now qualified for a 10-year Golden Visa.  

The government also changed or added the following categories:

Educators: Based on academic achievement, private education professionals in Dubai, such as those employed by early childhood centers, schools, and colleges, are now eligible for the Golden Visa. Family sponsorship will be permitted under this category.

Digital Creators: The UAE’s creative residency program now offers long-term residency to filmmakers, content creators, and social media influencers.

E-Sports Experts: Dubai Culture must authorize applicants who are 25 years of age or older to be eligible.

Luxury Yacht Owners: Yacht owners with vessels at least 40 meters long or executives working in yacht-related fields, including manufacturing, insurance, or brokerage, are eligible for visas under Abu Dhabi’s Golden Quay program. Family sponsorship will be permitted under this category.

Application Process

Applicants must meet specific criteria based on their category:

Investors: A minimum investment of AED 2 million in the UAE.

Entrepreneurs: Demonstrate a successful business track record and a minimum investment of AED 2 million.

Skilled Professionals: Hold a certified degree, have a minimum of five years of experience, and have a salary not less than AED 30,000.

Specialized Talents: Provide endorsements from recognized international organizations and meet other field-specific requirements. 

All applicants must pass background checks, have valid health insurance, and meet other general conditions.
